Compared to his recording of this song I find this rather a questionable performance a bit jerky and not as solid a beat. However there is no denying the man's talent and making comparisons to people who have covered his songs is a pointless exercise anyway and really down to personal taste.I would place his definitive version as good as but just different to Quo's pile driving rendition. If I was him I'd just be flattered that so many competitors liked my stuff enough to record it and take it all over the world and as he's John Fogarty out of CCR he's got no need for self justification anyway.
