I might have given up a finger or a toe to have been at this jam. What a perfect man to cover a Hank Williams Song. Poetic perfection.

While I'm not enthused by rhythmic yodelling, I love the guitar work! There is something about rag-time and delta-blues that really gets my creative juices flowing. I can see why Fogerty dipped so deeply into country. Kind of interesting how the bluesman Howling Wolf got his name by trying to imitate Rodgers. He could only pull-off something he thought sounded like a wolf's growl.

Then there's California Blues also off the Blue Ridge Ranger's album, a Jimmie Rodgers song recorded in 1928.

Back in the 70s I would have really stained my britches if I knew this song was written by Hank Williams in the 50s. I mean, isn't it obvious that I was too cool to listen to that redneck dinosaur? Time has a way of changing everything.
