So Who has the guitar now? He played it right up to his death because we can see it in a lot of the 1993 concert footage that's on youtube. Would love to hear that instrument played by another great bluesman.

Thank you so much for this posting! I got to hang out with John & Buddy Guy when they performed in Columbus Ohio not long before John's death. John played this Git-Fiddle & did the most amazing version of "Dust my Broom" that I have every heard. I wish I had video, but I have some GREAT photos that I would love to share. I did not know him before, but he was a perfect match with Buddy Guy on the Bill!

Lol. They charged you out the ass and made up a story about it. Jk. I'm not sure about the whole thing either. I never heard Lightnin play a National.

In reference to Michaelleigh.....for some irrational reason, there must be one doubting, no-talent douche bag of a detractor commenting posthumously about the truly talented. God I hate 'em! And their numbers are growing. I only recently heard of John Campbell and he is totally amazing!

I ran across a national few years back the thing almost played it's self - lol with me playing, that is almost nessicary. At the same time it was spooky like having music in a fire hose waiting to be let go.

@kiwibluesman If Lightin ever used it, one there are no photos of him using it, and no recordings of it.

Had the pleasure of meeting John when he opened for Buddy Guy in Orlando and seeing his set. An amazing musician (as is evident here). Always a shame when a great artist passes just as they're getting noticed.
