To the guy below who says Hendrix is "easy" to play....untrue. Yes, technically, but that is not the only thing that informs music. Very few guitarists can even approximate the soulfulness of Hendrix's riffs.

@mossberg451 Just one thing; Hendrix was/is famous for playing from his heart, playing soulfully. Not technical prowess. His stuff is easy to play, it really is. Complexity and grandiosity (I mean musical grandiosity; his live shows were certainly pretty grandiose) were not his strengths. Rather, he played tastefully, he played with a lot of feeling and he played stuff that the world had literally never heard before.

@PinkyWontWork But, some people catch on to it much more quickly. Some just have that ability to learn and develop skill quickly. I think it depends on what kind of person you are, what your individual strengths are, and also depends on how much you actually enjoy playing and hearing (and making) music. If you love doing it, you will tend to do it more, and as a result, get good at it quickly. I learned to play pretty fast. And, what does politics have to do with it?

Yes he'll never read this. But youtube, this guy taught wrote Surfing With The Alien and taught Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett... so I guess, he's influenced me more than any other one player. Lots of us can say that.

@BanannaThug well, obviously there was a point when he sucked. there's a point where every guitar player sucks! Like, when you first pick up the instrument without really knowing what you're doing!

"I started out like everyone else, I really sucked." Somehow... I doubt that.
