One of the best freestyle songs ever. Its a very rare freestyle song because it sounds like the authentic freestyle songs of 1987, before house music fucked up freestyle in 1988 that caused its sad, fatal demise. Its amazing that it came out in 1994 given that 1987 marked the last year that freestyle sounded like pure freestyle before house music unfortunately changed and killed it in 1988. Very sad.. 1987 was the last and best year for freestyle ever.

That's not a hard and fast rule my friend, I generally consider "New School" to start in earnest with that song "In a Dream" by Rockell I think. After that all you heard was "New School". This particular mix of I've Been Thinking About You does have new school qualities. I'd say 1993/1994 is a better cut off dividing line, and of course there were always exceptions.
