@Jettigre1 In 1973, George Thorogood was my roomie in Boston and recorded a song I wrote as the fight song for the Boston Celtics. I was pretty into Joan, did the lyrics with her in mind. Rick turned it into the song you know and took it to JJ. It also can be heard covered in the film Jailbird Rock, a film noteworthy because a) it stars Robin Antin, who founded the Pussycat Dolls, and b) it features another song Rick and I wrote, "The Heart of Me," the lst Lesbian love song in film history.

@Jettigre1 The song, "Bus Driver," was certainly not among Muddy's best songs, but what a coup to co-write three songs with the guy who inspired Chuck Berry and the Stones! But back then, Rick was starting to hit it big - I'm guessing this was before his major impact with the Belinda Carlisle album. Being from Chicago, my interests were alwaysmore in the Blues and, as a natural evolution, straight ahead rock n roll.

@Jettigre1 I continued to write songs, but have focused more on theater and comedy (google me....I think you'll find something), including the Hustler Magazine ad parody "Jerry Falwell Talks About His First Time," which made its own impact. I actually wound up with a Grammy in 1977 for a song I wrote with Muddy Waters for his Hard Again album produced by Johnny Winter. (more)

@Jettigre1 No prob...this will take a few posts... Rick and I started out in San Francisco together writing music for Levis commercials. We both wound up in NYC and LA after that. Rick, as you may know, achieved - and continues to achieve - well-deserved massive success as a songwriter and producer....an immense and artistically generous talent, and a great guy. (more)
