+dvdman49 "Release Me" was written by Eddie Miller, and a couple of others whose names I can't remember, neither of which was Jimmy Work. Jimmy wrote "Making Believe", which was a hit for Kitty Wells, Emmylou Harris, and several others. That may be the song you're thinking of. He also wrote "Tennessee Border", which was recorded by Ernest Tubb, Red Foley, and even Hank Williams. Another lesser known hit Jimmy wrote was "That's What Makes The Jukebox Play", which was a hit for Moe Bandy in the 70's. God bless Jimmy Work, one of the greatest country singer/songwriters to ever walk God's green earth.

Jimmy wrote Release Me in the 50's (Please Release Me Let Me Go) that was a hit for Kitty Wells and others but never was able to shine as a artist due to lack of studio help....but thanks to you tube his own work is starting to shine
