My hat goes off to those who gave their lives to build this bridge. I commuted from Squamish BC for about 17 years and drove over that bridge going to work in Burnaby. Love the fact this song is for their sacrifices.

The lyrics to that song are as magnificant as the 18 men who gave their lives that fateful afternoon on the Pacific. Jimmy Dean had a keen sense on how a song should sound, what kind of message he wanted to deliver and how to craft the lyrics. I bought this 45 as well as "Big Bad John" when I was 10 and 11 respectively. Later I got Jimmy Dean's Greatest Hits. Got 'em on CD. RIP, Jimmy, you will always be remembered.
