Gotta admit, I can understand fellow parrotheads hating this. I did too at first, but like so much of what Jimmy does, it grew on me. Hey, anyone who knows the man and his work understands that there's at least one silly novelty song on each of his albums. FOLLOW THE TIDE and COLOR OF THE SUN brings us home to Jimmy at his finest and what he does best on SONGS FROM ST. SOMEWHERE, the same album that TOO DRUNK TO KARAOKE is on. It's a good album, and the first half tends to be lighter stuff like this, and then halfway through it kicks into gear and becomes a showcase of what Buffett, the most under-rated songwriter of all time, does best.

As I'd feared ... JB is just mailing it in now. Long time Buffett fan, but maybe retirement wouldn't be a bad idea? Billy Joel, when speaking of his own career recently, said that he stopped making music when he had nothing left to say. He should call Jimmy and explain the concept.
