Other sources say Drake played on half of the "Spirit of '67", mostly recorded before he served his time in the National Guard. If not Jim on the other half, the Wrecking Crew is the obvious answer. The guitar on "Him Or Me" sounds a bit like Tommy Tedesco's work. Of all artists, PR&TR seem to be the only group that the Wrecking Crew denies playing for in the studio, except for Hal Blaine on "Indian Reservation". That doesn't mean they didn't, but they've denied it.

I saw Jim perform all the hits with The Raiders live but was later informed by an unimpeachable source that Drake played ALL of the guitar on all of the recordings except "Him or Me," which was done by the Wrecking Crew.

I know Jim's picture is on "Spirit of '67," but can someone tell me if he actually played on all the tracks. Were some of the tracks already "in the can" with Drake on guitar before Jim joined? I was lucky enough to see Jim with the Raiders in concert and thought he handled the solos very well, especially "Just Like Me" and "Good Thing", but have never been able to make a fair comparison without knowing which tracks Jim handled lead guitar on.

Harpo was selected for personality as well as musicianship. He was no slacker on the guitar, but he fit in perfectly with the zany antics onstage, and would have been great on Where the Action Is, if he had been around during that period. Personally, I liked "There is Love", his other "big" release. But I think he was/is too gentle a soul for the rock scene, and he was a victim of a period when hard rock pushed out soft rock as a dominant force.

In Meadowbrook, PA, there are two parallel roads on opposite sides of some railroad tracks (but the areas on both sides of the tracks are both nice - no bad side of the tracks here). One is called Lindsay Lane, and the other is called Valley Road. And when I discovered this, my first thought was, two members of Paul Revere & the Raiders!

@GentlemanTony This is probably as commercial as Jim was going to get and certainly he should have been allowed something on the 'Spirit' album.Let's face it,if Smitty could get a cut and Jim couldn't,you can appreciate his frustration.

Not a strong enough tune to be a single, but this is better than half of the Spirit of '67 album and should have made the cut.
