Musicology aside, this group (the membership of which floated somewhat) was the apex of Jug Bands. I saw them live in Wollman Arena in Central Park in 1967(?), and it was a great musical experience and a laugh riot at the the same time. A bonus was watching Maria D'Amato, who actually played fiddle as well as singing a causing every male in the audience to develop a crush on her. If Kweskin had not been so good, Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions would never have become the Grateful Dead.

Bruno Wolfe/Dave Simon on vocal...he MIGHT be 2nd harmonica to Mel Lyman's lead..not sure of that one, tho'.....

Is that Fritz Richmond on vocals? I notice there's no jug when he's singing. Also - are there two harmonicas? Whoever's playing the bluesy licks in the left channel sure sounds like John Sebastian.
