I'm a huge Croce fan, I always felt there should be more of him on here so I decided to contribute.

I love Jim Croce's songs and music. I've even had dreams about him. In one dream I travelling back in time when Jim was maybe 19 or 20. I was trying to teach him Operator, Photographs and Memories and other songs so he could become famous sooner. I also warned him about doing concerts in Natchitoches, Louisiana, but I woke up before I could teach him everything.

Jim Croce makes me proud of my Italian background and it saddens me that a amazing musician like him died at 30 when he had a family. I truly wish he was still alive, there would be so much more of his beautiful music.

Croce never did a Christmas album. This song was included on his Life and Times LP. Croce himself described it a "soft, slow, wintery kind of snow song; just about people".

So gorgeous. In a way, Jim and Maury were the perfect musicians. I am also still sad about their death.

I find it so sad and ironic in a way that three of the best folk musicians all died in accidents. Jim Croce, Harry Chapin and John Denver. Their songs moved me beyond words. Sad how they all left us so soon.

The first time I heard this song I'd recently separated & it was my first Christmas alone in many years. This song broke my heart, it hit me like a bag full of hammers! It's beautiful, sweet & sad. I never knew before that Jim Croce did a Christmas album.

Old Crow Medicine Show is who the friend was referring to. Love them, but a person should be able to listen to both Croce and the medicine show without feeling a like uncool.

This song reminds me of a lost love. Wonder what she's doing tonight? Who she's with? I've moved on and I hope she's very happy but I still wonder about her and what might have been....

I think we miss lost loves even more at Christmas - I know I do. Life is so beautiful and JC captured it well with his music. Dan Fogelberg's Auld Lang Syne does the same...
