Such a simple tune with straightforward words - but so powerful. It has always been one of my very favoutite songs and the lyrics are so comforting when people are having ups and downs in their journey through life. Jim Croce had many struggles to make the breakthrough to be recognised in the music business and this must have given him great understanding of dealing with failure and suucess and keeping them them in context. if you like this, also listen to "The Hard Way Every Time"
