The Killer, Jerry Lee, performs "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On". Lewis was born to the poor family of Elmo and Mamie Lewis in Ferriday in Concordia Parish in eastern Louisiana, and began playing piano in his youth with his two cousins, Mickey Gilley and Jimmy Swaggart.

The end is soo good. the "why don't you sha-ha-hake" is great, it would have been one of the best ends of him ever, if he would sing the rest of the end like always. He shouldn't have gone from G to F to sing the end so low (tone).

Well, to be honest, don't like that western swing type version too much. Killer looks and sounds fine and at the end he's done some "shakin'", but the band better play for Mr. Owens, although they are a mighty fine bunch of pickers though.

On this day in 1958 {March 18th} a rare occurrence happen on 'American Bandstand', an artist performed live rather than by lip-sync... Jerry Lee Lewis performed three songs live; "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" {peaked at #3 in 1957}, "Great Balls of Fire" {#2 for 2 weeks in 1958}, and "Breathless" {#7 in 1958}... He was also the first artist to perform three songs on one episode of 'Bandstand' R.I.P. Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012} and The Killer celebrated his 77th birthday this past September 29th...

Lets get real low one time.......Wake up band! If the killer says get low you get low! I love how he just laughs it off

The last portion is, once again, yet another solid argument for Jerry Lee as the "greatest". He simply did no wrong, performance-wise, in these years. And he looked great, too!
