This is a fantastic song. Since it was released back in 1978 during the Disco era, this should've been a top 40 pop hit. Even though Jerry Butler was mainly popular between the late 50's, and throughout the 60's with the string of hits in the top 40 back then, he would've had more success around the 70's, and the 80's as well. This song would've played either on the original 99X, WABC, and even the original Disco 92 WKTU as well.

Jerry Butler worked so well with Gamble-Huff. This is the combination that gave us "Only The Strong Survive", "Never Gonna Give You Up" and " A Brand New Me". Jerry puts his ALL into this song. I would have loved to have seen him perform it live. This is the kind of man who should be a role model for our you people. Besides being a great singer, Jerry Butler was a successful Illinois politician and businessman.

@Spinanmyx Yeah, the "hotness" is the quality of the treble. It's a tad bit scratchy, but it's all-good. Green Philly International label? Well, maybe they're a little darker overseas. :-) I'm definitely glad to know that there's other people that really appreciate Philly International!

@Odawg96 - Thanx for comments. Interested to know what you mean by 'a little hot'. Maybe treble could be reduced a bit? (have no means of electronically 'cleaning up', nor do I have an equaliser). Yellow label? Mine are green! But I take your point & totally agree that you just knew quality would be forthcoming, just because of the label. With the exception of perhaps Motown, can't think of any other record companies that created that level of expectation in the '70's.

What are you apologizing for? This sounds GREAT...definitely better than some of the uploaded versions from CD. It's a little HOT, but it's bearable. It's good to see that yellow Philadelphia International label spinning around. My father burned that image into my head was just barely outta of the womb. Philly International was a WAY OF LIFE in the 70s...and when you saw that label, no matter who the artist, you KNEW it was good music.

I have an AMERICAN pressing of this vinyl gem that I purchased NEW in 1978. Still in perfect condition. Its all in how well one protects their collection. But no matter, this is still a great song and THANK YOU for uploading it.
