As a child, I remember driving my aunt and uncle almost crazy during the summer holidays, I loved this record so much I set the auto-changer on their radiogram to replay and almost wore it out (hence the hisses and crackles which you can hear, as my aunt gave it to me about 20 years later!)

I have an original AUSTRALIAN pressing of the 7"single of this great song and the Australian issue has a different B side to the original South African release. The Australian B-side is called " Black & White Calypso".

brilliant song, it certainly brings back memories of our life in LM in the mid 60's. We had just learned English at the Primary School there and we were making friends with other children of our age, who spoke English with this heavy South African accent that I was very intrigued with! Since I wanted to "belong" to the new set of friends, I tried very hard to speak in that way .... so many memories!!

I'm 13 and this is the best song I have heard in a while. Nowadays some songs are trash and others are ok but you can never beat the classics

Memories, memories. I'm 70 now and after 50 years in SA I'm living in England. The reasons I am sure you can guess. How I miss those days gone for ever.

Watched him in folk clubs in the late 60s - outstanding performer, he sang about things as they WERE.  You can either enjoy it or keep your knickers in a twist.  Just be grateful some things changed - some even are even better . . . however, many a far worse.
