@ggioja actually this performance predated the album version, so i have always looked at it (somewhat sadly) as jens changing it from avocado to watermelon, etc. the words in this version are perfect.

OK, so in the opening line of this recorded performance the direct object of slicing goes from being a watermelon to the more current avocado, while in the Emergency Room of the closing verse, she goes from bringing him a cup of coffee and a chocolate donut to being some kind of Angel such that he thinks he must be dead. I enjoyed the images you selected to accompany the song, and easily my most favorite is the drawing that we see the first time we hear the words, "you put your arms around me.
