Pretty awkward syntax -- could have used some rewriting. I admire JA verymuch as a whole, and what Slick is trying to say here, but I'm not sosure of her lyrical ability -- if this was hers. Then again, thelyrics in one of may favorite new acts: First Aid Kit, are somewhatclumsy. Of course, they play instruments quite well, as well aswrite and sing. As a guitarist, who also wrote and sang back in theday, I generally expect it from others unless they stand out in onediscipline. My older bother only dabbled in percussion, but he wasan outstanding singer. I did not fully appreciate his ability untilI did live sound for his band at one point. Make no mistake: I wasvery critical of him, but he was up there with some of the best rocksingers I can think of regarding technical ability and vocal control. I like Grace Slick, but I wouldn't say she was a great singer. Shehad an authoritative/stinging sound, but that was just her naturalvoice. It takes no effort to sound just as we do.
