No elaborate poetry, no play on words or wit, just that pure and simple phrase, I love you. At the point when their presence is so overwhelming you find it hard to even say anything, but those words are the only thing you could possibly say then, pure and powerful. Its no secret Marty was feeling actual love when he wrote this.

Marty Balin has written some of the greatest love songs for this group. And his voice is spectacular. I love this song. Thanks Marty, I have great memories of your songs and this group during the infamous 60s. It doesn't get better than this.

This song makes me think of the wide-eyed innocence of the "early" San Francisco scene--before the 'world' came to the Bay Area and corrupted it. Nice, clean typical Mid-60s folk rock reminiscent of the Turtles, Lovin Spoonful, Mamas and The Papas, Spanky and Our Gang, etc.

This is in fact an obscure but very good way to tell your significant other you love them. When I received the vinyl LP I was tickled to discover the album cover picture is a giant postage stamp, and the fact there's an aeroplane behind the band and they look like they're ready to take off. (: It's strange that Skip Spence was the original drummer chosen for Jefferson Airplane and he was fired the same year he was hired! But he gave us (briefly) glorious Moby Grape, so that's proof he could do his own thing. When Signe left the group, she must have sensed what was to happen in music or something, because boy did it ever.

Go Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady on Bass. The rest is Marty Balin. Steve Perry of Journey definitely reminds me of Marty Balin.

Remember this song in the summer of love (1967) the dead and airplane played on weekends in the panhandle. The fillmore was only 2 bucks, love was free. never to be again.

Just curious, is Skip Spence of Moby Grape on this album cover? Is that him to the left of Jack Cassidy?
