@metyuewb AMEN! I've been saying this forever. The Blues is an art in and of itself, and these Bluesmen were great artist in their own right. Of course they influenced people later down the road, but their music stands on its own.

@maximol2923 : Several decades before the Scorsese film, on one of John Mayall's 1st albums, he had a song called "I'm Gonna Fight For You, J.B.", and then another song "The Death of J.B. Lenoir". I guess I am older than you because that's the first I heard of him.
