David may not like this stuff much, but without it, we wouldn't have the David we know and deeply love now. This band was popular in JAPAN and it led him to Sakamoto. Trust me, this period of Sylvian absolutely HAD to happen.....

There is a difference between stealing and being influenced by. Sure DD and FF were influenced by them. Japan was without a doubt influenced by Bowie. But nobody copied.

Tämä on hienoja bändi 70-aikakaudella... Hyvin etuajassa eteenpäin jokainen bändi, joka kopioi ne. Hyvä video, Kiitos lähettämistä!!

I listen to this most times I'm out riding my racing bike. Reminds me when I was a young man. Still sounds great.

JAPAN .Wow,they were too ahead of there time.A little glam, punk,Some funk and Rockn'roll, and you have something. The British take music history seriously.I'm not gonna lie.I didn't find out about them until years later, when a Music magazine talked about Post punk new wave and this group was featured,so I had to get down.

Thannks smegski for posting this! On my third listen. Such a tight performance. Now and as always, it's hard to decide which I like better, the early guitar-centric Japan, or synth-Japan. To other commenters: yes, Japan influenced so many who came after. And that's a good thing. Japan's expertise reminds me of true live Emerson Lake and Palmer -- which is also a good thing. Folks who appreciate early Japan will appreciate ELP as well. (IMHO) - prost

There's a difference between ripping off and suffering an influence! Learn it!

I very much understand why David wants to distance himself from this... haha! It's so weird watching this with an awareness of how he is now

I Love Japan since I was a 11 year old girl and all my friend hated me because they all loved ABBA...hahaha...I still have a crush for Steve Jansen ;o)) I followed them all trough their solo careers and they did well!
