Un giorno della primavera del 1969 George Harrison si presentò a casa dell'amico Eric Clapton per fagli ascoltare dei nastri.
Finita la seduta di ascolto, i due si riposarono nel giardino della villa dove il sole batteva forte, e proprio in quel momento venne a George l'ispirazione per questa canzone, dedicata al sole appunto.
Il brano è tuttora una delle migliori composizioni di Harrison insieme a Something, ed è anche una delle canzoni più conosciute dei Beatles.
Il pezzo fu registrato senza l'apporto di John Lennon, ancora ricoverato in ospedale dopo un lieve incidente stradale.

I think its in 6/8 time which makes it an unusual time from its original 4/4 time , but the arrangement is first class as was the performance.We all have to try new things I guess.8 years назад

You can say what you want about not liking this version, and you can have your opinion. But saying it is just inherently bad is ignorant. His guitar playing is perfectly fine and his vocals are gorgeous. It has all the good qualities of being good musically. If you like George's version better, fine, but think about why that is.
