On the song Spirit in the Sky, they used a blown speaker to get the sound you hear during the instrumentals. They liked it and kept it so that's what you hear. It worked!!!

This song rocks man! Far Out! I loved this song in the 70's! The bass is awesome! The drums are absolutely far out! I loved Walk Away in the 70's. We had 75 rpm's back then, called records. James Taylor, Three Dog Night, Beatles, Led Zepplin, Ozzy Osbourn, Tommy James and the Shondells, Queen, Black Sabboth, Cream, Deep Purple, Mama's and the Papas, Herman and His Hermits, James Taylor, Vanilla Fudge, were the music WE had back then! You STILL hear them today on the radio. I AM 60's and 70's!

It was revealed in an interview with Don, that he and Joe, got along the best of all, within the Eagles. Joe and Don were cut from the same cloth...

Hard Rock, is what we called it, but yeah, it could be called Grunge today...

You don't need megawatts of Marshalls to prove you can play.

Probably the birth of Grunge, before they knew what to call it.

Why do I love the James Gang, but not the Eagles? Because Joe Walsh is allowed to be Joe Walsh...

Dont forget that Dan (or Don?) Felder played with Joe when Joe would go out on tour before he joined the Eagles.

ya know, I'm glad someone else thought that, that was one of the first things that came to mind being a product of the 90's!

Thanks for not chopping off the intro as so many other versions of this clip out here seem to do. This is an ass kicking song and amazingly loud with only three instruments and all live.

Joe co wrote life in the fast lane and pretty maids all in a row.. and not a single eagle had the sucess prior to the eagles that joe had with james gang.. prior to joe the eagles played country pop.. he is a huge reason for there becoming the rock band they turned into... agree with one thing.. don henley had the voice.. no doubt. but joe and his guitar work and rock edge put them on the map. love the eagles
