This humbled me a bit. I usually have a great ear at identifying samples, and I've heard kweli with the same sample but never connected the 2 because he cut it so well.

Damn I'm moved. Just getting into hip hop 3 years ago and only being 21 currently, De La Soul is bigger than life to me. Straight legends. Through MF Doom on and I'm blown away. I'm touched, love these guys, can't wait for the next album.

i think the comment about 50 cent is funny looking back at how back then every indie rap snob when deriding "commercial" like 50 would be sure to say that their problem with that style of rap was not only the vocals but the beats - ha and then you see something like this where it reminds you that these "sides" were both drawing from the same talent pool for beats.

Best song on The Grind Date..Slept on De La classic. I saw them do this in concert at Rock the Bells in 08. Crowd lost it. Still one of the best things I've ever seen..
