Vogliamo suonare solo ancora un po.La storia di “Stay” ha inizio molto tempo fa, quando nel 1953 un quindicenne di nome Maurice Williams cerca in tutti i modi di convincere la fidanzata a non tornare a casa prima delle 10 di sera (cosa che il padre le aveva obbligato di fare); quindi le canta di restare, di rimanere ancora un po’, ma senza tanto successo.Passa qualche anno ed il giovane Maurice decide di registrare quel brano che anni prima non è che gli avesse portato tanta fortuna, ma le cose questa volta andarono ben diversamente. Siamo nel 1960 e “Stay” raggiunge in poco tempo la vetta della American Record Charts.Curiosità: la prima versione di Stay è ancora ad oggi la canzone più breve di tutti i tempi a raggiungere la vetta della American Record Charts.
