Here's how I see it....Kendrick Lamar is this generations Eminem. (The way his lyrics are and his fast style)Drake is this generations Kanye. (Cause of his robotic sound and the amount of hits he has)J. Cole is this generations Jay Z. (Cause of his storytelling and Jay Z did sign him...)Em, Kanye, and Jay were kingpins of rap in the last decade.... Now Kendrick, Drake, Cole are going to be this generations kingpins.

It's sad that so many people missed the symbolism in this video. This song is about how people in J. Cole's community looked down on him when he was younger because he has privileges/benefits they didn't and when he became famous he gave back to his community. The video depicts this in a much more literal way because J. Cole is mixed so the slaves look down on him because they see him as a white person while the white people see him as just a smarter slave. He stays true to his roots by helping the slaves escape. The other comments on this video justifying racism/slavery make me sick. Some of y'all really think slavery was just one big tea party? That if the slaves just extended a hand in friendship and asked to be set free that they would have been? Grow up. Slavery is no longer legal but us black people still aren't free yet. I wonder if it's because the (white) people who enslaved us in the first place are still denying their history.
