1080p BOOYEAH! =D This is a salute to THE Of Machines, the kings of Post-Hardcore in my books and a band that I have sorely missed.
I love this song to the empt degree. Have wanted to cover it for a long time and I'm so glad I did! I was originally going to wait until I got a hard-tail ESP with well set-up intonation but the intonation isn't overly horrid at the moment, it's noticeable at times but oh well. =)
I'm playing the song transposed to Drop C (it's usually in drop D). The song was learnt using a combination of dodgy tabs and aural analysis =) I really enjoy playing this song because it's not overly complicated but it is very intricately written and I have a lot of respect for composers who go to the effort to write well constructed, original, creative music!
Some parts of the song are very delay n' reverb crazy, so it wasn't easy to deciphre some parts, the riff after the first chorus in particular took a very long time to get and I'm still not 100% sure it's right, so I hope it sounds good as it is, the cover is probably about 90% accurate for this reason... it's simply SOOO AMBIENT, in the best way possible. =P

Directly input into garageband using my distortion pedal as a preamp, basically I set up an amp in garageband whereby is serves as pretty much a speaker with not too much eq adjustment, then I set up my pedal to the specifications and use the equalizer in garageband. In a nutshell A LOT of hours spent trial and error...ing, you can make most equipment sound at least decent just put plenty of time into getting it just right for you.11 years назад
