I think you're talking about the base lines notes he throws in before he strikes the chord. Since reggae strokes are on the off beat it sounds a lot more full when you throw in the base note right before the strike on the open count. He does it fast and hits the top 2 strings then strikes the note. So just practice hitting the route base note on the top 2 strings before striking the chord.

This song is awesome. Ive been trying to learn it on guitar. I got the chords down but I cant figure out what Micah is doing between the chords right when he switched chords. Its very subtle but sounds really cool to me. Does anyone know what im talking about or how he is doing it?
