Bronislau Kaper wrote wonderfully idiosyncratic and memorable melodies, including another standard, "On Green Dolphin Street." I've probably heard 20 or 30 versions of "Invitation." I can think of none better than this.

Man, I finally learned this tune. A lot of dissonance and flat five substitutions, and changing key centers. I think that deserves another beer!
