I don't think he sounds like Ben Gibbard or like Death Cab. Maybe the guitar parts are in the ball park of what Death Cab does. Maybe. But he definitely leans on the melodic and less dissonant side of things and spares harmonic tension unlike Death Cab would and their chord choice. He just looks like a hipster like Ben Gibbard. Whatevs.
