Carlos Dengler o Carlos D (Queens, NY, Estados Unidos, 23 de abril de 1974) es mayormente conocido por su anterior rol de bajista en la banda neoyorquina llamada Interpol. Nació y creció en el barrio de Queens y posee ascendencia alemana-colombiana (su madre es colombiana y su padre alemán).Mientras asistía a la New York University (NYU) para estudiar Filosofía en 1998, el que sería el guitarrista de Interpol, Daniel Kessler (quien también estudió allí, al igual que Paul Banks, vocalista de Interpol y solista) se le acerca comentándole que estaba buscando músicos con quien tocar y posiblemente formar una banda. Dengler, acepta. Respecto a esto, se ha rumoreado que inicialmente Carlos D tenía la intención de tocar guitarra y no bajo en la banda; sin embargo, Kessler lo habría convencido para que él tocase el bajo y no la guitarra.Sus influencias son Peter Hook de Joy Division y New Order, Simon Gallup de The Cure y John Taylor de Duran Duran. Para los que han visto a Peter Hook y Carlos Dengler tocar en vivo es fácil notar la influencia ejercida, ya que como Hook, Dengler toca con el bajo cerca de las rodillas.Además del bajo, Carlos toca el teclado.
