Michael Pearlstein...I am a Christian and proud of it. I don't try to shove my beliefs on anybody but I'm not ashamed to tell people what I know are truths about God and His word either. I know you don't want it...and wouldn't understand this...but I truly feel sorry for you and pray that your eyes are opened to the truth before its too late. Look, I hate religious people for shoving their beliefs down my throat but I'll most definitely explain to the Christians why us atheists believe we should "force" our beliefs on you. We know religion was created to explain unknown phenomena. That's what ancient mythology was all about, just like with all our other religions. Now that we have science to explain all the things we don't know, we see religion as out dated and primitive. Hell, the bible claims that the plague was "god's wrath" but really it was the fact that the people were uncleanly and it caused the illness to develop and spread. The bible says a lot of "stupid" things that were really just guesses on what really happened. I won't lie when I tell you that I judge every christian, but I also know that most people have been brainwashed their entire childhood to believe it, so I can't blame them. If it makes you happy, go ahead, but please don't cause any more strife in the "name of god" like hating gay marriage and keeping marijuana illegal. The only viable reason why religion is still around is because we haven't figured out where the god particle came from in the big bang theory. But once we figure it out, no one can believe in god without looking like a maniac. Be happy and be spiritual, but don't have the atheists, the ones that progress society, because we don't believe what you do.

To Robin B et al, radio stations not playing this song in 2006 was not due to this character acting as president. Reason for not playing on radio stations is due to good ole' commercialism. Songs need to be released as singles and require substantial promotional support. At the time "In God We Still Trust" did not have either.Folks are, and have been, focusing on the wrong issues with this obama character, using this song as one good example. Just his proven, documented, long-time close ties and affiliations with convicted felons, prior to his first term, should've be sufficient for even the staunchest, loyalist democrat voter to not choose him as their president if not by his FIRST term, certainly by his 2nd term. Those are the scary, frightening issues -- that voters chose to ignore those signs of this guy's character traits.Regardless, it IS a great song by Diamond Rio. For those who like the this song for its message, SANS any incorrect political references, God Bless and ... SEMPER FI!
