does anyone have a dvd of the Full knebworth 1976 fayre?? im desperately looking to compile or obtain a dvd of this for my father as he attended with my mother back in 76 and would make an awesome Christmas present to put a smile on his face :)

Masturbation by an unknown audience member was a feature of this gig. How he passed security onto the stage no-one knows. The best view was seen by the crowd at the back of the field looking at a giant TV screen after the follow-spot operators thought the show was starting again. I thought the TV sequence was nicely vision mixed - cutting between long-shots and close-ups. :-)

I vision mixed this recording.  TV Director Michael Lindsay-Hogg and the proper vision mixer Michael Elliot were both out of the Outside Broadcast truck at the time so I thought someone ought to do what they could for this number which I liked.  I was 29 at the time.

Attended this one with several friends and the love of my life at the time - what a summer 1976 was eh? Fantastic line up for it too. Delay for 10CC was purely excessive set up time - their very last time live before the band fragmented. Best track for me was Don't Hang Up, with the phone purring at the end, out over the heads of 350,000+ people - awesome. Skynyrd were brilliant, Stones were brilliant (we had been speeding for hours by then and loved the world anyway!), and being barely 15 yards from stage I can confirm that the 'wanker' really WAS an actual wanker and was none other than Roy Harper, who was well off his tree and had already wandered on and off stage a few times during the delay. Knebworth 76 was one of those unrepeatable events in rock where it is special to be able to say "I was there".

No the story goes Keth couldn't get some beef & onion sandwiches from perkins in Knebworth village, its really was that simple, no drugs were involved at all.Lovely summers evening .

yes that right , rem-bar what the fan done before the stones came on and 10cc were impressive John peal put dark side of the moon twice that also upset some fans

Hello Knobworth - Let's not forget Todd Rundgren's part in a great (and very long) day - no clips of him on YT. Agree 10CC took a bashing for, in effect, being the support band. All through this performance Keef was shooting up in the back stage area. I thought 10CC were great and took it all in good grace - 'spose they had their own thing happening because this turned out to be their last performance.

I was there at the time and they were very good 10cc they started off with Im a neanderthal man but stopped halfway through the song and started playing this song a truly brilliant concert that will stick in my mind for ever

I was there, having been knicked by the bill for driving up the hard shoulder with everyone else, as the bill had made such a f@k up of getting all the cars parked, reason going around for the stones delay was that after 3 encores they did not want to follow 10 cc, what a line up LS, 10 cc and the stones. magic day.

I was there...a yank visiting the UK, who out of the blue showed up at the Knebworth fairgounds a few days early and got a job working backstage getting all the dressing room trailers in order...it was a time I remember the rest of my days...I stood just beneath the stage during the 10cc set...The Stones didn't didn't put on the best show at the end of a long day...Lynyrd Skynyrd' s set was the best of the event....
