There are a lot of people out here in the music world that agree with you about country music being hi-jacked. It's become more of a hip hop/rock and roll type music, to me this new country doesn't deserve to even be listed as country. I too try to find the radio stations that play classic country, but it's getting harder and harder to find. Sad. Thank god for CDs and records, When traveling I just pop in a CD I transferred from an album.

Thank you for posting it. You know todays so called country has left me cold. I listen to mostly old country, country classic channels. Sadly when you listen to those channels you quickly realize that todays country radio hijacked the definition of country music & made it something it isn't. Anyway I'll hop off my soapbox and just say thank you for helping to keep great "country" music alive!

I love that Johnny Paycheck version here on youtube! That is what led me to this. This is one of the most heart wrenching,tear in my beer country songs i've ever heard. Solid country gold

my good friend Larry Johnson wrote this song...it was Johnny Paycheck's first recording on his comeback tour before he died. Larry also co-wrote "Don't Take The Girl" with another good friend Craig J Martin....
