Indeed. He was a phenomenal talent. I still play his stuff to this day. "Holding On To You" - both the studio and live versions - it don't get no better than that!!

I can believe that, because that happens often. When you're relying on a jaded system for success, you're already in trouble. And then some dont know how to handle fame anyway. Some lessons are unfortunately learned the hard way! The worst thing about it though is we the fans don't get to realize the full potential of the artist because of their stupidity....too bad, he had something special, I think.

Not to trash him or anything, but I read years ago that once he started to gain popularity, he developed a huge ego which ultimately led to his downfall. He said some unflattering things about Prince during an interview and compared himself to both Prince and Michael Jackson at one point in his career. I think he simply pissed off the wrong people.
