Might not have been "the greatest song ever" (didn't even make RS top 500), but Mac did have the greatest hair. Look at it now though!!

A great song, a great band...such a shame McCulloch talks such bollox. But maybe that is part of his charm. PS The Beatles certainly wrote some better songs, but that is just my opinion.

People would understand him if he sang when he talked.

Well I never , it all makes sense now.Space Oddity has never been my favourite or even in my favourite top 30 Bowie tracks, but I do love the chords.I like them much better backwards and that's just uber cool. Taking a Bowie song and dare I say improving it. The same can't be said of the sweet Blockbuster as a rework of the Jean Genie .Fate... Thru...thick and thin...you give yourself to him...I'm having this on my funeral discNice one IanYou come very close to the excellence of this with 'in the margins'

not arguing with Ian here... but i've heard him claim both Killing Moon and Ocean Rain to be the greatest song ever written. I could find words to stand behind either choice... although I still think it's 'Don't Fear the Reaper'. a song EatB might have written had they not been beaten to it.
