The boy in this video is Kisaragi Shintarou. The girl is Tateyama Ayano. Shintarou is an extremely smart boy who was distant with the people in his class. Then, he became close friends with Ayano. In the beginning of their first year of high school, he saw Ayano crying one day. The next day, he found out that she committed suicide for some "unknown reason". Soon after that, Shintarou dropped out of high school became a hikikomori for two years and escaped to the digital world.

The Kagerou project will also have an anime adaptation. The date for its release is unknown.
