Some believe it was Peter's way of saying ' I am not worth of rising up to the Father but to descend down in hell'. Maybe the meaning of it is simply not being able to rise above your own self. You either live with it or you fall with it. (I have a tattoo all put together with an upside down cross, which is the reason above for me getting said symbol)

@DaNooch669 I don't think there is any other meaning other than showing humility. I'm sure they have educated themselves before using that symbol knowing ppl would comment on it. Besides they have the record label, managers, artists to also comment when talking about using it as artwork, they wouldn't just use a symbol willingly. And these guys don't even seem to have any inclination to satan ...in song nor appearance :)

Thank you for replying. I'm aware of St. Peter and his choice of crucifixion and the true meaning of the reversed cross. But what I would like to know if I Love you but I've chosen darkness use it in the same way or for some other meaning.

Many believe its entended to be a disrespect to Christ, some metal bands/athiest & satanists use it to provoke Christians & stern conversation & believe it praises satan but they are incorrect. The true meaning is humility, respect & praise to Christ. Originally first done by the first Pope, Saint Peter, he was martyred by crucifixion & requested to be hung upside down 'cause he didnt feel worthy enough to be hung upright like Jesus. It is a symbol of high respect to the Lord & Christianity.

I saw these guys in Athens Georgia at 40 Watt, about 5 years ago, with "She Wants Revenge". They rocked it... better than the band they opened for. I was blown away, and it takes a lot of talent for me to say that. I want them to come back.........
