1st part, bars 1 to 4, I Chord. Blues harp tutorial. Little Walter's side-to-side flutter lesson, also called tongue trill. Advanced level.

The side-to-side flutter is an effect used by great blues harp players like Little Walter and Kim Wilson... is the rapid movement of the tongue from side to side. At first hard to get a quick movement, but have patience, everybody gets the effect practicing a few weeks.

In this video I have included the score. Do not worry if you can not read sheet music as you play the riff following the drawing of the harmonica.

Key of Song: G. Harmonica: C harmonica in 2ond position.

Practice with a metronome. Start practicing with a speed where you are comfortable, and increase the speed gradually. Try to blow/draw air faster, normally when the air goes faster the tongue also moves faster. Some tips: Pushes air from the diaphragm. Try to relax the entire body except the diaphragm, tongue usually moves faster. Try to there are no air leaks between the harmonica and lips. And most have a lot of patience. My English is not good, sorry. Regards,
