People keep referring to the original as "Shirley Murdoch's version". If it's the original shouldn't the remakes be referenced as versions? Either way the song should have never been remade because it is too tough to follow.

By every possible measure, and based on any criteria, Shirley Murdock's version is absolutely so much better. I respect Mo for trying. Her voice ain't bad at all, just not like Shirley Murdock. And the production value on Mo's version is the worse thing about it. It sounds like it was recorded with a K-Mart keyboard and recorded using a karaoke machine. Shirley's production sounds like it could have been recorded in 2012. Mo's production sounds like it was recorded in 1983.
