The vocal and emotional range on "Water For My Horses" is incredible and makes this one of my favorite songs he does. The story line is great also. A fantastic cowboy song. This comes from "Snowblind Friend" which was originally released in 1977 and then reissued as a cd in 1995. Hoyt's buckle says it all...almost. It left out Folk. I always liked Hoyt Axton, remembered him from the 60's. One of my boys went to a little private college at Lake Tahoe and took a history of rock and roll class. At his graduation ceremony he started telling me about his teacher who turned out to be Hoyt's wife. He took me to meet her and we chatted over a hour. What a really neat lady, what a really neat experience just to meet her and hear her stories. Hope she is doing well now, what a class woman.

This is one of my favorites, though I seem to have a large favorite list. Almost anything he sings! I never got to see him. I sure wish I'd had the chance. You had a super day if you got to hear one set...to hear 3 is a dream. I would have sat there for all of his music, also! Thanks so much for leaving your remark. and what a good song to pick! It amazes me that some people say "who?" . I hope his music AND name lives through time. He is an amazing singer! Notice I say "is". @FBHawke I never got to see him. I adore his music and his persona. I think he lived up to his persona in real life. I can listen to him for days also. His music never gets 'old' for me.
