This video is about the song. The song is about American History. We lost more brave Americans on both sides of the war than we had lost from the beginning of our nation until after the Korean War. ALL WERE AMERICANS! If the population of the 1860's was averaged for today, we would have lost over 6.5 million Americans in this war. This is Hoyt Axton singing my favorite version of "Oh I'm A Good Old Rebel" from the PBS companion cd, "Songs of The Civil War".

This is added for the music. NOT the politics. Hoyt Axton was a great composer, singer, performer, & a pretty good actor. I miss him. This is a different version of this song than Ry Cooder's version. Enjoy.10 years назад

the day that we fight in our own land to save our children and our country that is the day that we have to feel proud of our Army, Navy, Air force, etc. you have to go to high school in order to learn how to kill people? I've been gone and it was so nice to come back to your kind remark. I love music. I like history, though it seems we never learn from it. I cried as I looked at the photos I found. Some were so horrific, I could never imagine a place to show them. Ken Burns sure didn't use them in his documentary! Well, it is sad for the families of ALL who died.
