Restoring or fixing up a 1970's Digital Era Seeburg Jukebox? Recapping the Amp? You need to know how to replace the 5 large electrolytic capacitors in the Seeburg Jukebox SHP amplifier. Passing along Tips and Tricks I wish someone had shown me in a video. If this video is helpful PLEASE Click the Like Thumbs Up Button or leave a comment.

ALL Electrolytic Capacitors (lytic caps) fail (dry out, leak, erupt, pop, explode) over time (with or without use). Seeburg Jukeboxes with SHP1, SHP2 and SHP3 Amplifiers have lytic caps on the: Preamp Circuit Board; Driver Circuit Board and there are 5 large lytic caps soldered into the metal chassis.

Not a Seeburg Repair Expert - just a hobby. I talk about how I replace capacitors but I am not an expert. There are other ways to recap the SHP amp. If you find a mistake on my video that can cause a safety issue to people or jukes please leave a constructive comment.

Capacitor Safety - These big caps can hurt you or damage something if accidently touched. Make sure all caps are discharged.

The 1200uf 35v Capacitor is simple to replace. Correctly replacing the other four big caps are trickier. This video gives good tips.

Do you replace those caps just because they are old or what is the problem that caused you to want to replace them?

When you put 2 3300ufd caps in series you get approx. 1500mfd. Putting them in parallel makes them 6600mfd.
