Just the concept of having a so-called rock n roll hall of fame goes against the true meaning of rock n roll...REBELLION!!!!

The costumes and Paul Revere and the Raiders were the idea of a publicist.Paul Revere Dick really disliked his birth name, but the publicist thought it would be a good hook.

Posted this because it is one of my favorite songs ever. It was popular on the radio the same year I started dating my wife....August 1967. Every time I hear it, I am transported back to driving my 1956 Turquoise Chevy Belair on the way over to pick her up for a date. Funny thing, music does that to us. I agree, very underrated band.

+Cissy2cute You're quite right. Those costumes did look ridiculous. Back then we simply accepted whatever came along with the music. Didn't bother us. I suppose Paul was looking for a "gag", a way to finagle the band into the spotlight. I just know the music was solid R&R, not Metallica, nor Simon and Garfunkle, rather contemporary pop/rock. Hard to believe "Hungry" & "Kicks", two essential rock tunes on the timeline, aren't in the R&RHF with PR&TR."Chicago" ("25 Or 6 To 4"?), isn't in the "hall" either. It's the political & narcissistic maneuverings of Jann Werner as to who is initiated, and PR&TR apparently just weren't cool enough with costumes, seemed to have too much fun on stage I suppose..

boycott anything that shows up on the area you're trying to watch after you've just watched a commercial before the video clip started. they have a lot of screen to play with. stop cluttering up the vidoes!

These guys were much more hip than anybody today could hope to be. I mourn the loss of Paul Revere. A true pioneer.

This group was WAY under rated. Still can't figure out why they haven't been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Lancer1157, I have the "Best of" vinyl of the Raiders and this song is in mono. Where were you able to get the stereo version?

May sound lame: If as many Raider lovers tweeted the R&RHF (@rock_hall), and voiced opinions about the many left out, or about one group (The Raiders perhaps), it WOULD get noticed. We listened, WE bought their LPs/CDs, WE cared for them perhaps more than some of the inductees we barely paid attention to...incidentally, KISS was recently and quietly inducted. two-hit KISS? Seriously? Parliament-Funkadelic is in? Feel free to contact me to light the fire if interested. Maybe we at least get some press for the notion.Ron

And once again the Rock and Roll Hall of Lame has snubbed Paul Revere & the Raiders for "artists" like NWA????? What's wrong with this picture?
