I was an 18 year old young man in 1988 when I went to my first Grateful Dead show at Laguna Seca Raceway near Monterey CA; a camping show as they were back then, and I honestly was not yet a fan at the time. I knew very little of their music, but was completely blown away after a three day eye-opening experience. I saw another, I don't know, 30 or so shows and would have liked to have seen more, but life has a way of getting in the way. Never a fan of crowds, I went because I genuinely loved the music, particularly Jerry's singing and his magical guitar work. I still miss him, but he lives on, evidenced by this spectacular piece. Thank you for posting it.

No matter how much you might love Festival Express, and I do, we got gyped cause imagine just how much music and footage was recorded. They probably taped every performance at every stop en route. There should be a boxed set to represent at least every band and artist that came on board that train. Where is it? Probably sitting on someone's shelf never to be seen by the people who need to see it, like me!
