This was my very first LP. I think it was my 9th birthday, didn't even know I would play the trumpet about 3 years later. I loved it. Herb Alpert had a grip on me until high school when I was introduced to Maynard Ferguson and Bill Chase. Herb Alpert started it all so I will always have his songs on my ipod so many years later.

The "model" on Herb Alpert's TJB albums, "South of the Border" and "What Now My Love" was Jerry Moss' (Herb's business partner - A&M) wife, Sandra Moss, who graciously posed with Herb on both covers.  Very attractive lady, indeed.

@ Rich Leighton, I can tell you why !  Look at the times and the world we are living in, THIS music was so soothing and most of it was recorded in times of horrid things.. JFK, RFK, and so many more terrible things.. The frothy lighthearted sounds just make the terrible go away.. Escape with Herb Alpert and the TJB !  I love them and have since I was three years old.
