Hera is from Iceland but has lived for many years in New Zealand (Christchurch). She lives close to me in Christchurch. According to Hera quoted on her Wikipedia page (" Hera Hjartardóttir") the varying facial art she applies before appearances is "inspired by moko and also by Celtic warrior paint". It is intended to represent both her Icelandic and New Zealand heritage. "Moko" is a traditional Maori face art.Hera has won "Best Female Singer" at the Icelandic Music Awards.
