A hugely underrated band who probably would have gone on to bigger things had Gem not joined Oasis, but I guess he would have been stupid to turn down that opportunity! As it stands, Heavy Stereo produced some great material but never quite got the attention they deserved - I guess their glam rock sound (particularly their earlier stuff) didn't quite fit in with the Britpop sound of the time.

I suppose you haven't listened to A Bell Will Ring and To Be Where There's Life? C'mon Gem and Noel are good friends but Oasis had too much fine tuning as they had so much creativity in them after Gem and Andy joined. All the albums since 2000 were collaborative.

Cause why mess with what's already genius? He does have a great voice though, but wouldn't have suited Oasis's style. Sung backup on a couple of live tunes from time to time.
