Your logic is not sound. Oh, and every DSBM band ever is influenced very strongly by Burzum's sound (the '93-'96 stuff, at least) and if they're not then they're lying.

But using that logic you could say "You can't compare X DSBM band with Y DSBM band because X was making music in Russia and Y makes music in Portugal; their differing geography and therefore culture means that their music could not possibly be produced with the same ways of communicating in the minds of the musicians" and from there you can say, regardless of location/time, "but A and B are different people, so you can't compare their music", and from there to "you can't compare A's music...

exactly !!! spot on !! you cannot compare burzum with happy days,, they are both very different and both great in their own genre..

Burzum falls in the black metal genre, whereas Happy days, suicidal depressive black metal genre.. They are both VERY VERY different on a deeper level of riffs, lyrics, drum coordination and the message they want to pass. It's not a matter of what CAN be compared here.. Don't associate raw black metal with dsbm. The only thing that CAN be compared is that, they are both metal \m/
