Wow this was so helpful, I was wondering if there was a way to learn the strumming pattern. So I know if I'm picking the top string or the one below it. Is there a pattern that I'm not seeing?

Any advice on how to "bar" or however you call it? I try to do the F11 with my whole first finger on the first fret but it sounds horrible.

when i first heard you play this song, i never thought i would be able to do it myself, but less then a week later following your guidelines (you make them as easy as you can make them) i already playing the song half of your speed, this is the first time i fingerpick and it makes the chords sound so much nicer, the hardest part is the first few days where your fingers dont seem to be able to do, but then they start remembering. thx so much i am old enough to realise the amount of money i would have had to spent to learn this.

Hello Alan, another astonishing job, I'm sure many guitar players are glad to have a person like you on youtube that they can learn from. I have a question, do you always try to play the song like the original or as close to the original as possible? Because I've also seen you detuning your guitar or using a capo, but that's to back up your own voice, apart from that, do you play the original?

Hi Alan...I'm back learning the Guitar as I've been inspired to learn again but learning fingerstyle to make it more challenging... I was given this song by my tutor to learn for the next week but will be learning Pink Floyd in my next lesson...I can't wait
